Pojedine rok grupe (YU grupa, Korni grupa, S vremena na vreme, Smak, Bijelo dugme, Leb i sol&#8230;) koristile su folklorne elemente spontano koketiraju\u0107i s muzikom koja je ih okru\u017eivala, u te\u017enji da pro\u0161ire publiku na deo omladine kome je \u00bbnarodnja\u010dki\u00ab muzi\u010dki idiom bli\u017ei ili da bi se \u00bbpribli\u017eile\u00ab urednicima radio stanica i iskografskih ku\u0107a. Istovremeno, ovakvom \u00bbnostrifikacijom\u00ab skidali s su roka odijum \u00bbtu\u0111e\u00ab, \u00bbzapadne\u00ab muzike.<\/p>\n<p>Na\u010din na koji su jugoslovenski rokeri koristili \u00bbizvorni folklor\u00ab i \u00bbneofolklorne elemente\u00ab nai\u0161ao je na dva, u osnovi ideolo\u0161ki suprotstavljena na\u010dina tuma\u010denja: kao prvo, preplitanje \u00bbetno\u00ab motiva sa npr. hard rok elementima (primer: YU grupa) nije marketin\u0161ki koncept koji treba da aktivira \u00bbzemlja\u010dki\u00ab, \u00bbjaranski\u00ab ili neki drugi sli\u010dan gen. Ovakvi bendovi ne obra\u0107aju se \u00bbpolutanskoj\u00ab populaciji socijalisti\u010dke Jugoslavije koja slu\u0161a \u00bbnarodnjake\u00ab i svoje autorske koncepte sprovode \u00bbbez srozavanja u sevdah i banalnost\u00ab. I drugo, oni drugi bendovi (primer: Bijelo dugme) rade sve to i sprovode op\u0161tu i nezadr\u017eivu \u00bbjaranizaciju\u00ab jugoslovenskog rokenrola koja je i glavni uzrok njegovog kona\u010dnog \u00bbpada\u00ab i povla\u010denja pred agresijom turbo-folka i njegovih derivata u post-socijalisti\u010dkom periodu.<\/p>\n<p>Prelomnim doga\u0111ajem u ovom procesu smatra se objavljivanje albuma Kad bi\u2019 bio bijelo dugme (1974). Ono nije u direktnoj korelaciji s progla\u0161anjem Ustava SFRJ iste godine, ali je zanimljivo upore\u0111ivati na koji na\u010din se recepcija upotrebe folklornih elemenata u rok muzici menjala u svetlu promena u medijaciji nacionalnog identiteta koje su donosile politi\u010dke reforme u jugoslovenskoj federaciji.
