Vednost in znanje ne izginjata zgolj zaradi novih tehnologij in na\u010dina \u017eivljenja, ampak tudi zato, ker se tamkaj\u0161nja ribja ter pti\u010dja populacija zaradi \u010dlove\u0161kega pohlepa iztrebljata s hitrostjo, ki je oto\u010dani ne pomnijo.<\/p>\n<p><em>It\u2019s hard to understand why we need to take more\/more than a living, more than can be held in store\/emptying the sea like a river od gold\/leaving nothing to the next generation at all<\/em> je v skladbi The Fishermen and The Sea zapisala Lise Sinclair, nadarjena komponistka (sicer Ingejina sestri\u010dna) in nekdaj kulturno srce fairisleske skupnosti, ki je tragi\u010dno preminila preden je bil album dokon\u010dan, in kateri je album posve\u010den.<\/p>\n<p>Spo\u0161tovanje do morja kot rodovitnega polja in negovanje ve\u0161\u010din, ki so potrebne, da ohranjamo trajnostno ravnovesje morske flore in favne, od katere je odvisno pre\u017eivetje vseh prebivalcev in ki mora ostati \u0161e dolgo potem, ko nas ne bo, da bo hranilo na\u0161e potomce, je nam, celincem, morda res tuje, a je na tiso\u010de nevidnih na\u010dinov povezano tudi z na\u0161im jedilnikom in na\u010dinom \u017eivljenja.<\/p>\n<p>Da Fishing Hands na subtilen na\u010din opozarja na degradacijo okolja, hkrati pa je \u010dudovit hommage tamkaj\u0161njim ljudem, njihovem dialektu, ki vsebuje cel kup starih nordijskih (vikin\u0161kih) izrazov, ribi\u0161kim tradicijam in seveda kralju oceanu, brez katerega ni \u017eivljenja. Ali, kot poje Inge v zaklju\u010dni pesmi Song For Sheep Rock: <em>As long as there is fish\/In the sea, there\u2019s a heartbeat<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Inge (harmonika, glas, ksilofon, elektronika, besedila, aran\u017emaji) je trajektorije morskih zemljevidov in ribi\u0161kih poti, ki so se sicer iz roda v rod prena\u0161ali tudi po ustnem izro\u010dilu, pretopila v note, v mehko uglasbeno elegijo. Aran\u017eiranja in snemanja\u00a0se je lotila s pomo\u010djo glasbenih kolegov in kolegic, znanih \u0161kotskih folk glasbenikov in glasbenice, kot so kitarist Steven Polwart, pihalec Fraser Fifield (pi\u0161\u010dali, kaval, saksofon, efekti), flavtistka in pevka Sarah Hayes ter Graeme Smillie (bas, efekti). Album je bil posnet v \u017eivo, v \u0161tirih urah.<\/p>\n<p>Skozi ne\u017eno valovanje in prepletanje harmonike, pi\u0161\u010dali, kitare in mrmrajo\u010dega basa, v katerem plivkata medena \u017eenska soprana in diskretno podlo\u017eeni elektronski efekti, redki govorni vlo\u017eki in recitacija v \u0161etlandskem dialektu, nas Inge Thomson pelje tja, kjer se sre\u010damo z mogo\u010dnimi vodami, z oceanom v nas.
