Gotovo je bilo vmes \u0161e kaj. V zadnjem desetletju se je vse bolj odmikala od klavirja h kitari in to ji je ustrezalo, njen zvok je iz poslu\u0161ljivega salonskega country-jazza pre\u0161el v bolj alter, ostrej\u0161e vode, kar je nakazovalo zrelost in voljo za eksperimentiranje. Vse, kar je lahko, je dosegla \u017ee s prvencem, zato je delala po svoje. Avtorski premik se je za\u010del nakazovati \u017ee na tretjem albumu <em>Not Too Late<\/em> (2007), a vrh je dosegla z naslednjim <em>The Fall<\/em> leta 2009, z novo podobo in precej ostrej\u0161o glasbo, ki pa kljub temu ni zvenela prisiljeno. Takega vrha ni ve\u010d dosegla, o \u010demer smo pisali \u017ee ob izidu <a href=\"https:\/\/novamuska.org\/?p=4968\"><em>Little Broken Hearts<\/em><\/a>, pa ob albumu <a href=\"https:\/\/novamuska.org\/?p=10329\"><em>Puss&#8217;n&#8217;Boots<\/em><\/a>, in to velja tudi za pri\u010dujo\u010do, \u010disto sve\u017eo plo\u0161\u010do <em>Day Breaks<\/em>, ki so jo \u017ee pred izidom kovale v zvezde domala vse glasbene revije, ji podeljevale visoke ocene in hvalile \u00bbvrnitev h koreninam\u00ab, kot je sama protagonistka poimenovala neke vrste recikla\u017eo zvoka prvih dveh plo\u0161\u010d.<\/p>\n<p>\u017de prvi komad, ki je napovedal album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DqA25Ug71Mc\"><em>Carry On<\/em><\/a>, ni dal slutiti \u010desa posebnega, pesem je lu\u0161tna in poslu\u0161ljiva, baladna, kot nekaj s prve plo\u0161\u010de, lounge country-jazzovski zvok pa\u010d, ki jo je naredil za zvezdnico in ji prinesel vse tiste grammyje. Ni\u010d narobe, seveda, spomniti se je treba, da je \u017ee na drugi plo\u0161\u010di predelovala pesmi Toma Waitsa in Townesa van Zandta, in to ne slabo, na prvi pa Hanka Williamsa. A vendar je bil ta zvok precej mainstreamovski glede na to, kar je po\u010dela nekaj let pozneje z mustangom \u010dez ramo in udarnim bendom za sabo.<\/p>\n<p>Plo\u0161\u010da, ki je pred nami, tematsko kombinira nekatere njene ostrej\u0161e prijeme s \u00bbkitarskih\u00ab plo\u0161\u010d in prijetno senzibilno igranje s komercialno vidnej\u0161ih. \u010ce bi bilo treba iskati jedro plo\u0161\u010de, tisto, ki najbolj prepri\u010da, bi ga na\u0161li v petih komadih: uvodnem <em>Burn<\/em>, \u0161e enem avtorskem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TTy8iSdQMwM\"><em>Flipside<\/em><\/a>, in treh predelavah: Neila Younga <em>Don&#8217;t Be Denied<\/em>, Horacea Silverja <em>Peace<\/em> (ta jo vra\u010da na \u010disti diskografski za\u010detek, k prvemu EP-ju <em>First Sessions <\/em>iz 2001, kjer njena prva studijsko zabele\u017eena izvedba te pesmi sklene doti\u010dni EP) in Ellingtona<em> Fleurette Africaine<\/em>, ki sklene plo\u0161\u010do. V srednjem in slednjem najbolj pridejo do izraza jazzovske korenine Norah Jones in plo\u0161\u010da se kon\u010da na nekoliko mo\u010dnej\u0161i noti. Na prav taki se tudi za\u010dne. Burn je zanimiv komad, besedilno od avtorskih domala najmo\u010dnej\u0161i na plo\u0161\u010di, \u010deprav ne zdr\u017ei ves \u010das, vmes pa ni ni\u010d kaj posebnega, niti besedilno, niti glasbeno. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=17_YAKEqjkI\"><em>Tragedy<\/em><\/a>, ki je eden od singlov, je bolj ali manj pasti\u0161, naslovna pesem prav tako, ob <em>It&#8217;s A Wonderful Time For Love<\/em> in <em>And Then There Was You<\/em> pa se spomnimo na Surprise z druge plo\u0161\u010de.<\/p>\n<p>Verjamemo, da si je Norah spet za\u017eelela sesti za klavir, a saj ga ni nikoli popolnoma opustila. Verjamemo tudi, da si je za\u017eelela spomniti se svojih klubskih za\u010detkov, a saj tudi tega ni nikoli popolnoma opustila, igranju v velikih dvoranah in v \u0161tevilnih TV-oddajah navkljub.
