Minilo je \u0161e pet let, preden sem album prvi\u010d poslu\u0161al na lastnem predvajalniku. Technicsov stolp, za za\u010detek le z oja\u010devalnikom, dvokasetarjem, predvajalnikom cedejev in stovatnima zvo\u010dnikoma. Uvodni komad <em>Are You Going With Me? <\/em>se je najbolj prilegel zjutraj. Ob predtaktu sem nastavil glasnost, po uvodnem delu z vstopom Maysovih klaviatur po potrebi korigiral srednje in visoke tone. \u0160e preden je Metheny vklju\u010dil &#8216;sirene&#8217; na Rolandovem kitarskem sintu, je bilo \u017ee vse nared za devetminutno potovanje. Ta komad se razvija. In to tako dobro, da enostavno mora\u0161 zraven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Posebej mo\u010dan vtis so name naredile tudi skladbe <em>The Fields, The Sky<\/em>, <em>Phase Dance, Straight on Red<\/em> ter baladi <em>Travels<\/em> in <em>Farmer&#8217;s Trust<\/em>. <em>Phase Dance <\/em>zaradi izjemne teme in solov, ki sta na posnetku tako dobro strukturirana, da sem ob poslu\u0161anju neuigranega nastopa PMG leta 2010 v Kri\u017eankah (na 51. Jazz festivalu Ljubljana v sklopu turneje <em>The Songbook Tour<\/em>) kot razo\u010daran otrok osamljen obsedel na tleh, obkro\u017een s stoje\u010do navija\u0161ko mno\u017eico poslu\u0161alcev, ki se jim je zdelo vse v redu. Le najve\u010dje legende si lahko privo\u0161\u010dijo gesto, da se obiskovalcem z odra opravi\u010dijo za &#8216;slab\u0161i&#8217; nastop, \u010de\u0161 da \u017ee nekaj \u010dasa niso igrali v tej zasedbi in da je to njihov prvi koncert na turneji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Metheny je moj vtis popravil leta 2017 na nastopu s kvartetom, kjer je poskrbel za koncert mojega \u017eivljenja. V oblakih sem bil sicer \u017ee leta 2004, ko je pri nas nastopil s triom. Vendar ta ekskurz ni namenjen primerjavi Methenyjevih koncertov. Povezava z albumom je dvojna: na gostovanju leta 2010 mi je Pat Metheny s posvetilom podpisal svoj album, taisti, o katerem govori ta zapis. V mladosti me je to vodilo v pretirano ob\u010dudovanje pe\u0161\u010dice glasbenikov, mojih velikih pet (Paco de Lucia, Pat Metheny, Freddie Mercury, Frank Zappa, John Zorn), zaradi \u010desar sem spregledal ali celo namerno odrival veliko druge dobre glasbe. Na sre\u010do sem kasneje dobrih deset let slu\u017ebeno obiskoval koncerte raznovrstnih doma\u010dih in tujih glasbenikov, kar mi je precej raz\u0161irilo obzorje. Moji maliki niso postali manj\u0161i, le spoznal sem \u010disto mo\u010d glasbe. Do te pride\u0161, ko se iz promocijskega paketa, ki nam ga vsiljujejo mediji, agenti, organizatorji, glasbene zalo\u017ebe, nau\u010di\u0161 izlu\u0161\u010diti kategorije, kot so popularnost, nagrade, reference, recenzije, promocija, tr\u017eenje, produkcija, postprodukcija. Potem ostane samo glasba. In \u010de je dobra, te zaznamuje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vpra\u0161anje je, ali z ve\u010dkratnim poslu\u0161anjem postaja bolj\u0161a. Ali je isto glasbo treba poslu\u0161ati ve\u010dkrat? Ali privezuje nase zaradi repeticije ali ker je enostavno dobra? Zaradi &#8216;mojega albuma&#8217; <em>Travels<\/em> sem opustil \u0161tudij prava. Igral sem na kitaro in obenem sanjal, da bom neko\u010d postal tako dober kot Pat Metheny. Kaj je \u0161lo narobe? Sem dopustil, da se je glasba izjemnih talentov vtisnila vame tako mo\u010dno, da mi je obenem zaprla pot do lastne ustvarjalnosti? Kakorkoli \u017ee, zdaj, ko sem \u017ee skoraj tri leta o\u010de mal\u010dku, vem, da ponavljajo\u010de se poslu\u0161anje iste glasbe ne izkori\u0161\u010da v polnosti otrokovih sposobnosti prepoznavanja in ujemanja zvokov. Zato doma (in upam, da \u010dim prej spet na koncertih!) poslu\u0161amo raznoliko glasbo, preprosto in zahtevno. A glej ga zlomka, v avtu kljub temu na vsaki vo\u017enji \u017ee dve leti in pol poslu\u0161amo le <em>&#8216;Naj, naj&#8217;<\/em> (<em>Ma\u010dka Murija)<\/em>.
