Odlo\u010ditve, odlo\u010ditve, ampak nazadnje prevlada najbolj preprosta odlo\u010ditev, namre\u010d prvi album, ki mi je storil vse na\u0161teto in ve\u010d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Popularno mu pravimo <em>Beli album<\/em>, \u010deprav nosi zgolj ime skupine The Beatles. Vse v zvezi z zunanjostjo in dizajnom tega dvojega albuma v trajanju 93 minut \u2013 kot povpre\u010dno dolg film \u2013 je bilo zasnovano minimalisti\u010dno; popolnoma bel ovitek vinilke, na katerem je celo ime skupine izpisano brezbarvno, reliefno, na notranji strani pa zgolj \u0161tiri fotografije \u010dlanov ansambla ter linearno navedeni komadi, brez obi\u010dajnih parcelacij na A in B (ter v tem primeru \u0161e C in D) stran plo\u0161\u010de. Askeza brez primere, sploh za desetletnega mulca, ki so mu Beatli koncem sedemdesetih let pomenili prvi stik z \u00bbresno\u00ab oziroma \u00bbodraslo\u00ab glasbo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ampak okrog Beatlov je vedno neka velika zgodba, in zgodbo, tak\u0161no bolj intimno, imam tudi jaz. Beatli so bili leta 1980 v Jugoslaviji prisotni skoraj izklju\u010dno z zgodnjimi albumi, s poslu\u0161ljivimi hiti <em>love-me-do-yeah-yeah-yeah<\/em> tipa. Njihova diskografija se je za \u0161e-ne-najstnika iz glasbeno neoblikovanega dru\u017einskega okolja, ki mu na pamet ni padlo, da bi za plo\u0161\u010de zapravljal denar v tujini, kon\u010dalo z albumom <em>Revolver<\/em>, ostalo je bila <em>terra incognita<\/em>. Morda kak\u0161en <em>Hey Jude<\/em> ali <em>Let it Be<\/em> iz radijskega etra in to je bilo to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kasneje sem razmi\u0161ljal, da je \u0161lo verjetno za zalo\u017eni\u0161ki \u0161tos, skupina je po Epsteinovi smrti ustanovila lastno zalo\u017ebo Apple Records in pravice so se prenesle drugam, kar je socializmu verjetno pomenilo nepremostljivo oviro pri odkupu pravic. Dokler nekega dne v izlo\u017ebi nisem ugledal neznanega lete\u010dega predmeta v belem ovitku in s \u0161tirimi dolgolasimi, rahlo zanemarjenimi liki na tistih \u0161tirih \u010drno-belih fotografijah. Komajda sem jih prepoznal, Lennon je imel nenadoma o\u010dala, McCartney je bil neobrit, Harrison in Starkey pa z brki. Pa dve plo\u0161\u010di za ceno \u2026 dveh plo\u0161\u010d, \u0161e en visok zid za desetletnika z neobstoje\u010dim bud\u017eetom za osebno fonoteko. Za to pa obstajajo strici in tete, sem si rekel, pa \u0161e ti so \u2013 iz gole previdnosti, da ne bo star\u0161evskih o\u010ditkov o zapravljivosti \u2013 astronomsko ceno, izpisano s kulijem, prelepili z belo nalepko za \u0161olske zvezke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kakor koli, dvojni album je bil kon\u010dno v moji lasti, gramofon je bil pripravljen, igla je sedla v utor, nakar\u2026 Presene\u010denje je mila beseda ob zvokih, ki so se valili iz poceni zvo\u010dnikov, ki br\u017ekone niso bili kos produkcijski kompleksnosti in re\u0161itvam v aran\u017emajih; bolj \u0161ok, nejevera, celo razo\u010daranje, kam je zaneslo do tega trenutka spevne, simpati\u010dne glasbenike v lepo ukrojenih oblekah. Kje so hiti, sem se spra\u0161eval z rokami v laseh, kje sta neustavljiva melodika, kje prepoznavni Merseybeat? Kako je mo\u017eno, da na eni plo\u0161\u010di rokenrol komadu sledi country-dixie zafrkancija, temu pa balada, ska, parodija na blues in proto-metal za\u017eigancija, da bi vse skupaj sklenil devetminutni neposlu\u0161ljivi prosto asociativni eksperiment? \u010ce skraj\u0161am, <em>Belega albuma<\/em> pri desetih letih nisem sli\u0161al v enem \u00bb\u0161usu.\u00ab Ni \u0161lo. Da bo mera polna, je bila vinilka nekarakteristi\u010dno strukturirana, ali kako se temu re\u010de, ko si jo nagnil postrani, nisi videl tistih \u010drt, ki so ozna\u010devale konec ene skladbe in za\u010detek nove, posledi\u010dno \u0161e tistih par komadov, ki so mi bili kolikor toliko ugajali, nisem mogel natan\u010dno naciljati! <em>Beli album<\/em> je skratka za kar nekaj \u010dasa romal v bunker, toda pri\u0161el je trenutek, ko je zavoljo spoznavanja drugih zvrsti in izvajalcev \u2013 ter kompletiranega opusa skupine \u2013 postal zame najbolj\u0161i, najljub\u0161i in nikoli prese\u017eeni glasbeni produkt.
