Nikoli in nikdar namre\u010d ne bom pozabil praznovanja svoje polnoletnosti daljnega leta 1999 \u2013 pa ne zaradi pridobljene volilne pravice, mo\u017enosti opravljanja vozni\u0161kega izpita ali katere koli druge tuzemske in tako ali druga\u010de banalne materialne dobrine, pa\u010d pa zaradi pri\u010dujo\u010de plo\u0161\u010de <em>Dream Theatra<\/em>, ki mi jo je kot rojstnodnevno darilo tedaj podaril najbolj\u0161i prijatelj iz otro\u0161tva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">V kratek poduk: Dream Theater, ki se je prej imenoval Majesty in obstaja od leta 1985 (<em>sic<\/em>, \u017ee 35 let!), je pet\u010dlanska skupina, ki ustvarja in igra takoimenovani progresivni metal (progressive metal). To je genialna podzvrst metalne glasbe, ki kombinira in spaja vplive in zvo\u010dnosti mnogih ostalih glasbenih zvrsti, na primer progresivnega rocka, klasi\u010dnega rocka, klasi\u010dne glasbe, fusiona, jazza in \u0161e marsi\u010desa. Temu \u010dudovitemu konglomeratu izjemnih glasbenih prvin, ki ga odlikujejo \u0161e tradicionalno brezhibne in tehni\u010dno do praviloma virtuozne mere izpeljane izvedbe vseh glasbenikov, se hitro postane absolutno nemogo\u010de upreti. Z 99% gotovostjo ste tako lahko prepri\u010dani, da vam bo va\u0161 naklju\u010dni glasbeni prijatelj na vpra\u0161anje, \u010de pozna kateri progressive metal band, odgovoril prav z Dream Theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do trenutka, ko sem v dar dobil pri\u010dujo\u010do mojstrovino, metala \u0161e nisem poslu\u0161al, niti progresivnega niti katerega koli drugega, a ta plo\u0161\u010da je to spremenila za celo \u017eivljenje. Celotno prvo poslu\u0161anje sem presedel z odprtimi usti, ne vedo\u010d, kaj me je zadelo. Vendarle moram poudariti tudi, da sem imel nevrjetno sre\u010do, da sem se z DT spoznal prav prek tiste njihove plo\u0161\u010de, ki pri veliki ve\u010dini obo\u017eevalcev in poznavalcev \u0161e dandanes \u2013 po ve\u010d kot 20 letih od izida in devetih studijskih albumih, ki so jo nasledili (v doma\u010di zbirki imam seveda vse) \u2013 velja za njihovo najve\u010djo mojstrovino. Gre za konceptualni album (v svetu progresivnega rocka in metala dobro znan pristop), ki je dramatur\u0161ko razdeljen na dve dejanji s po petimi in \u0161tirimi prizori. V njih se v s \u010dustvi in virtuoznostjo nabitih 77 minutah odvije tragi\u010dna zgodba o ljubezenskem trikotniku ene \u017eenske in dveh bratov, ki do nje gojita naposled smrtonosne strasti. Zgodbo glavni akterji (z glasom pevca Jamesa LaBrieja) pripovedujejo s pomo\u010djo zami\u0161ljene hipnoti\u010dne regresije, ki jo do\u017eivlja en od likov in skoznjo podo\u017eivlja svoje \u017eivljenje ter celotno tragedijo ter se sre\u010duje s konceptom reinkarnacije in transcendentnega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pogled na \u017eivljenje (in predvsem smrt) pa mi je najbolj spremenila balada <em>The Spirit Carries On<\/em>. Besedilo pripoveduje o smrti, vendar jo ovije v toplino pla\u0161\u010da ultimativne \u017eivljenjske mojstrovine in zadnjega koraka, ki pa nikakor ne pomeni konca, ampak je v svojem bistvu benevolenten:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I used to be frightened of dying \/ I used to think death was the end \/ But that was before \/ I&#8217;m not scared anymore \/ I know that my soul will transcend<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If I die tomorrow \/ I&#8217;d be all right \/ Because I believe \/ That after we&#8217;re gone \/ The spirit carries on<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Move on, be brave \/ Don&#8217;t weep at my grave \/ Because I am no longer here \/ But please never let \/ Your memory of me disappear<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balada mi je ve\u010dkrat (in mi \u0161e vedno) priklicala solze v o\u010di ter mi pred nekaj leti pomagala preboleti in ozavestiti tragi\u010dno in nepri\u010dakovano o\u010detovo smrt, celotno plo\u0161\u010do pa sem preposlu\u0161al ne\u0161tetokrat, ne\u0161tetokrat, ne\u0161tetokrat. Na pamet znam vsako noto, vsako spremembo taktovskega na\u010dina in vsak zlog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ni\u010d nenavadnega ni torej, da sem od tistega usodnega prvega pritiska na tipko <em>Play<\/em> novembra 1999 (p)ostal za celo \u017eivljenje zaznamovan z glasbo DT in da sem se po\u010dutil popolnoma doma\u010de in izpolnjeno, ko je klaviaturist skupine Jordan Rudess leta 2009 na koncertu v Hali Tivoli <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EA4ooWbf1ZA\">po povpra\u0161evanju na ljubljanskih ulicah<\/a> v svojo dolgo sola\u017eo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=n9a6wY18yRI\">vklju\u010dil tudi skladbo Na Golici<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Scene One: Regression\" width=\"790\" height=\"593\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H2UHWFU5uFY?list=PLEouLkiLHdSD24y6s9QZqJqE1uXL7Aiia\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Tine Vu\u010dko je glasbenik s skoraj 25-letno koncertno kilometrino.
